The fourteenth edition of La Stelvio Santini will take place on the weekend of June 6–7, 2026, and will feature a new gravel experience alongside the traditional Sunday road gran fondo. The event is organised by Italian firm US Bormiese.

The event weekend is expanding to include a new gravel ride on Saturday, June 6, 2026. This was created in collaboration with 3T, a brand focused on off-road, gravel cycling.

For the first time, the thousands of cyclists who gather every year in Bormio, Italy, will have the chance to climb the ascents of the Stelvio and Alta Valtellina, and also to venture along gravel roads and forest tracks.

Mario Zangrando, the driving force behind La Stelvio Santini, said “This new form of cycling is growing strongly in our region right now. We are excited to offer participants a gravel experience that is probably unique in the discipline, as it develops entirely at high altitude.”

As with the road event, the gravel ride will start and finish in Bormio. The route winds its way through the gravel roads of Alta Valtellina, from Valdisotto to Valfurva and on to Valdidentro and the Cancano Lakes.

Two route options are available for the gravel ride:

  • A shorter 44km route with 1,200m of climbing.
  • A longer 70km route with 2,000m of elevation gain.

A highlight of the long route is the ascent to the Cancano Lakes via the Boscopiano gravel climb.

The gravel event adopts a format with selected timed sections to determine the rankings and reward the best performances on both climbs and rolling terrain. The long route will feature two timed sectors, while the short route will have one.

The main road event takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, and is an amateur cycling challenge with three road courses, all aiming to conquer the Stelvio Pass:

  • Long Route: Bormio – Rogorbello – Mortirolo – Bormio – Stelvio > 130km (4,270m elevation gain).
  • Medium Route: Bormio – Rogorbello – Bormio – Stelvio > 108km (3,050m elevation gain).
  • Short Route: Bormio – Sondalo – Bormio – Stelvio > 64km (2,280m elevation gain).

The road event will once again offer the ‘pair entry’ option for those who want to share the challenge with a partner, friend or family member.
