1,000 custom saddles and counting: Fizik highlights saddle tech through rider experiences

Fizik, the Italian cycling equipment specialist, is celebrating a milestone for its flagship One–to–One custom programme. The company notes that it has now produced over 1,000 unique custom saddles using its 3D–printed technology.

To mark the occasion, the Pozzoleone–based brand has released a short film featuring several high–profile riders. The content explores how bespoke saddle technology supports performance across various cycling disciplines.

The One–to–One system is a bespoke programme that creates a custom 3D–printed saddle. It uses pressure–mapping data captured during a dynamic fitting session. This service is currently available through an international network of more than 100 bike fitters and retail stores.
 

 
Each saddle is produced individually at Fizik’s headquarters in Italy. The manufacturing process relies on data sampled while the cyclist pedals on their own bicycle. This information is used to build a saddle featuring multiple variable density zones. According to the company, this approach aims to aid symmetry, spread pressure more evenly, and reduce peak pressure.

Tadej Pogačar, a four–time Tour de France champion, noted the impact of saddle comfort on professional racing. Pogačar said “I have seen riders lose or go home from the race, because of saddle sores.”

The rider has used One–to–One saddles for almost all of his recent victories since his initial fitting session in 2025. He currently utilises eight different custom saddles within his setup.

Emerging professional Isaac Del Toro also uses the system. Del Toro said “Thanks to the comfort and the grip” his performance is improved, noting that “with the power I can go a little bit faster.”

The technology’s application extends beyond the World Tour circuit to ultra–distance racing. Lachlan Morton, a pioneer in long–distance events, notes that the 3D–printed adaptive padding is now a central part of his equipment. Morton said “It would be tough to imagine going back” to traditional saddle designs.

Artist and ultra–distance rider Quinda Verheul previously struggled with comfort during multi–day events. She was often told she would “just had to change my position or just have to shift my hips” to find relief. For her, the One–to–One programme provided a solution that she described as ‘sitting on a feather’.

Fizik adds that its data–driven process allows riders to confirm the improvements in pressure distribution during follow–up fitting sessions.
