ABUS is increasing its presence in the triathlon sector by welcoming reigning IRONMAN World Champion Casper Stornes to its sponsor roster. The partnership, confirmed in March 2026, follows performance analysis and testing of the new ABUS TT TimeShifter helmet at the Silverstone wind tunnel in the UK.
Based in Wetter, Germany, ABUS is a family-owned security specialist that has been operating for over 100 years. The company currently employs around 4,000 people across 25 branches in Europe, the USA, Latin America and Asia.
The new collaboration aims to support CasperStornes in defending his title and securing the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. Depending on race requirements and route profiles, Stornes will utilise the TimeShifter, AirBreaker 2.0, and GameChanger 2.0 helmets.
Christian Rothe, Member of the Management Board at ABUS, said “The test at Silverstone demonstrated the enormous potential of combining our state-of-the-art aerodynamics with Casper’s exceptional performance level. Even after the initial results, it was clear to us that something special was emerging.
“We therefore decided to continue working together. Our aim is not only to accompany the reigning world champion, but to actively support him in achieving his goal of defending his title.”
According to the company, the partnership will involve direct exchange between the athlete and the ABUS development team to further refine product innovation. Stornes noted that the helmet’s capabilities were first observed at races in Roth before formal testing began.
Casper Stornes said “We first noticed the new TimeShifter in Roth and the subsequent races. The helmet’s capabilities were immediately evident, and ABUS welcomed us as equals right from the start.
“I believe that attention to detail is crucial. Testing the TimeShifter in Silverstone demonstrated the performance potential of ABUS technology. Our goal is to secure the next major titles by working together.”
ABUS adds that it continues to pursue a strategic goal of strengthening its position in triathlon and expanding its presence at international long-distance events and IRONMAN ProSeries races in particular.
