British Cycling has confirmed that the Lloyds National Cyclo-cross Championships in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, will be streamed on the British Cycling YouTube channel.

The event will be live streamed as part of a pilot initiative, accessible via a subscription fee of £2.99. The coverage, provided by Monument Cycling, will broadcast the elite, U23, and junior races on Sunday January 11, 2026.

The national governing body noted that the coverage will also include highlights and storytelling content across social media platforms to showcase behind the scenes moments. This forms part of a new approach to domestic sports coverage, which British Cycling identifies as a strategic priority for growing the sport.

Riders will compete for the prestigious national bands jersey at the championships. In the open title race, Thomas Mein enters as a main contender following five wins in the Lloyds National Trophy Series. He will face competition from Cameron Mason, who has achieved podium and top ten finishes in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup series this winter.

In the women’s field, Ffion Drake enters after earning four series wins over the winter. She will compete against a field that includes the 2025 champion, Xan Crees.

The reigning U23 champions are Cat Ferguson and Ben Chilton, while Oscar Amey and Zoe Roche hold the junior titles from the 2025 season.

Amy Gardner, Sport and Participation Director at British Cycling said “This forms part of our dynamic new approach to domestic sports coverage, to reach and inspire new fans and deepen engagement with existing audiences.

“Our coverage will get to the heart of the action at the Lloyds National Cyclo-cross Championships, bringing you the best racing from South Shields.”

Gardner added “It is always a prestigious event in the calendar as riders compete for the much sought after national jersey, a huge honour in anyone’s career, across all age groups. We are investing in the coverage to make top quality Championship racing accessible and engaging.”

British Cycling is the national governing body for cycling in Great Britain, representing a community of members and 2,000 affiliated clubs.
