HYROX and Bunq launch first co-branded credit card for fitness racing athletes

HYROX, ‘the World Series of Fitness Racing’, has launched its first co-branded credit card in partnership with bunq, Europe’s second-largest neobank (digital bank).

According to the international fitness racing series, the collaboration aims to provide unique benefits and rewards tailored to the HYROX community, which reportedly now comprises over 1.5 million participants worldwide.

The new credit card is designed to simplify travel and spending while enhancing the HYROX race day experience. Key benefits for cardholders include access to the ‘bunq Fast Track’ – a dedicated check-in counter at events to allow athletes to skip queues – as well as 10% cashback on all purchases in HYROX shops as well as race entry giveaways.

The partnership leverages bunq’s mobile-first onboarding, allowing athletes to open an account in minutes. This is intended to reduce administrative tasks, allowing participants more time to focus on training and preparation.

Moritz Fürste, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer at HYROX said “At HYROX, the community is truly the core of everything we do, so to be able to partner with bunq for this co-branded credit card is an incredible opportunity to extend a range of benefits to those who take part.

“As we continue to grow, we are excited to bring more benefits through this card, as we know it’s the things that support the community and the experience they have that make HYROX so unique.”

Leon Curling-Hope, Head of Acquisition at bunq said “bunq and HYROX share the same belief: real freedom comes from having the right structure. HYROX gives people a clear framework to train, progress, and achieve their goals, while bunq does the same for banking by offering simple tools to organise everyday finance without friction.”

The digital bank was founded in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and its primary banking licence is European. Although it became an approved broker-dealer in the US in October 2025 as part of its goal to become a global neobank, the company’s core operations are managed from its headquarters in the Netherlands.

It is positioned as the first GenAI-powered bank in the world and previously secured a €193 million series A round, the largest of its kind for a European fintech.

To support the new credit card launch, bunq is activating at HYROX Amsterdam on January 21–25, 2026. A branded booth is on-site at the event to help athletes and spectators sign up for the new card.

HYROX events follow a standardised format consisting of 8 x 1km runs interspersed with eight functional workout stations. The organisation is currently working towards Olympic recognition for the sport of fitness racing.
