Trail running brand Kailas FUGA is adding a brand new model to its DU trail shoe series with the launch of the DU MONSTER. The product is the latest addition to its technical DU range, and is engineered for runners facing adverse weather conditions and extreme terrain.
Built on the foundation of the series’ grip performance, the DU MONSTER combines the brand’s existing technology with updated Vibram technologies, TPU foaming, and heel support. The shoe is engineered to tackle technical uphill sections, deep mud, steep descents, gravel tracks, and grassy trails.

We’re applying 13 years of research, testing and optimisation to produce a unique design that carries runners quickly and safely across the toughest trail. Every element of the DU MONSTER – from the deep lugs and Vibram outsole to the widened heel, has been engineered to improve grip, stability and security.”
The shoe weighs 315g for a size EU42, features a 5mm drop, and has a stack height of 30mm at the toe and 35mm at the heel. For traction across mixed terrain, it utilizes an aggressive 5/7mm lug configuration via the Vibram Traction Lug with D2D (Deep to Deeper) lug system. This features lower depth lugs at the front and rear for flexibility, alongside deeper side lugs for traction.
The outsole is divided into three functional zones – propulsion, braking, and side grip – termed PG3 Zone Technology. It also includes a TPU foam midsole for cushioning and a TPU exoskeleton joint stabilisation system for heel stability.
The brand’s proprietary technologies are retained in the design, such as the AWS 3.0 secure lockdown system to prevent foot sliding and toe jamming on steep descents, alongside an anti-impact toe cap. The upper construction uses XDiMESH technology for breathability, and the shoe includes integrated gaiter attachments with a 4-point locking system.
The DU MONSTER joins the brand’s DU2 and DU Speed models as a dedicated range for steep climbs and unpredictable weather. The DU series sits alongside the EX series, which is aimed at ultra-distance runners and elite-level racers.

- Integrated Gaiter Attachments – featuring a secure 4-point locking system for added protection in mud and debris-heavy environments.
Finished in an Electric Pink colourway, the DU MONSTER has an RRP of €220. It is already available for purchase on the official website and will be available in select stores in Italy, Spain, and France from June 2026 onwards.
