Italian bicycle manufacturer Pinarello has unveiled the GREVIL MX, a new addition to its gravel range that is designed to handle terrain beyond the limits of traditional gravel bikes.
The GREVIL MX combines the aerodynamic efficiency of a road bike with the stability of a mountain bike. According to the company, it is engineered to excel on steep climbs, rugged trails, and technical descents without compromising responsiveness on hardpack ground.
The geometry of the new model takes the head angle (67.75°) and trail (101mm) from the DOGMA XC hardtail and pairs it with the MOST Talon Ultra Light cockpit found on the company’s flagship road bikes. According to the company, this enables a lower and more compact position for the rider.
The frame is constructed from Toray M40J carbon fibre and features fully integrated TiCR cable routing and a threaded BB. The bottom bracket area comprises a triangular structure, while the rear triangle incorporates an asymmetric design. This is intended to counterbalance the higher loads generated on the drivetrain side, creating a more balanced energy transfer.
The chainstays and seatstays have been reinforced to withstand torsional forces typical of aggressive gravel riding. The bike is optimised for 50mm gravel tyres and features 100mm of suspension fork travel.
Fausto Pinarello, President at Pinarello, said “The GREVIL MX is designed for riders who push gravel beyond its typical boundaries. It’s a very versatile bike, perfectly suited for races or adventures where you’re riding into the unknown.
“It can handle long climbs and rocky descents with ease and combines the feeling of a MTB with the ergonomics of a road bike. It’s a unique addition to our gravel range.”
The GREVIL MX is compatible with electronic and mechanical groupsets and features a 38T–10/52 transmission system. The specification includes a SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS 1×12 groupset, DT Swiss XRC 1200 wheels, and a FOX 32 Float Step Cast Factory Kashima fork.
