Puresport has confirmed the release of its new Pomegranate Ultra Electrolytes product, developed in partnership with British track athlete Amy Hunt.
The new product offering joins the brand’s hydration range, with Hunt directly involved in the flavour selection and testing process.
“After leading the development process, I settled on pomegranate as a fun but distinctive flavour,” Amy Hunt, elite track athlete, said. “It combines sweetness with tartness – the brightness draws you in, but that tartness really signifies recovery to me. The flavour aligns well with recovery drinks, which I personally find to be really important.
“I like the physicality of pomegranate – you have to work hard to open it up. It requires patience and effort before you get to the sweetness. Visually and in terms of taste, they represent the blood, sweat and tears needed to succeed – but there is beauty in that too.”
Hunt has been affiliated with Puresport since 2025, using the brand’s product range to support her training and recovery routines both in the UK and while training abroad in Italy.
Dr Jamie Pugh, Scientific Advisor at Puresport, said “Hydration is one of the variables every athlete can control – regardless of what the day throws at them. And as Amy points out, flavour matters more than people think – if something tastes good, you actually want to drink it. Pomegranate is a great example of that, it’s distinctive enough to make taking it feel like an easy choice rather than a chore.”
First launched in May 2024, the Ultra Electrolytes line is supplied in no-added-sugar sachets designed to deliver doses of sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium to support fluid balance and muscle function. The new pomegranate option joins existing range flavours such as Citrus Salt, Raspberry Salt, Watermelon Salt and Orange Lemonade.
The release comes as Hunt prepares for upcoming events on her competitive schedule, including the recent Commonwealth Games, the European Championships, and Diamond League fixtures in Lausanne, Zurich and Brussels, ahead of the World Ultimate Championships in September 2026.
Every batch of the new product undergoes testing by Informed Sport to ensure compliance for elite competitors.
Jon Murthy, Head of Marketing at Informed Sport, said “Behind every extraordinary athletic achievement is trust in what optimises performance. At Informed, we provide the canvas of safety that lets elite competitors like Amy perform with complete peace of mind. By testing every batch of Puresport’s new Pomegranate Ultra Electrolytes, we let athletes focus entirely on their craft.”
Daniel Temm, Chief Executive Officer at Puresport, added “Amy is exactly the kind of athlete we want to build with – not just because of what she achieves on the track, but because of who she is off it. She is driven, considered, and genuinely invested in her performance in a way that mirrors everything Puresport stands for. We’re excited about what is still to come, and to continue building on this partnership.”
Founded in 2018 by former professional athletes, London-based Puresport develops sports supplements including Informed Sport certified electrolytes, creatine, recovery formulations and muscle relief products. The brand also operates the Puresport Running Club network across UK cities, which has recorded participation from over 45,000 runners during the past year.
Puresport Pomegranate Ultra Electrolytes are priced at £33.00 for a pack of 30 sachets.
