Swiss sports brand Scott Sports has unveiled the Kinabalu MTN, the latest addition to its mountain running footwear range and the flagship release of its autumn/fall 2026 collection.
Headquartered in Givisiez, Switzerland, the company designed the shoe specifically for technical off-road terrain, loose ground, and trail exploration. The Kinabalu MTN features deep 7mm lugs on a Soft-ground outsole, built to handle loose dirt, mud, and rocky conditions where traction is essential.
The shoe features a 10mm heel-to-forefoot drop, constructed with a stack height of 37mm in the heel and 27mm in the forefoot. The standard model has an approximate weight of 270g for the men’s version and 240g for the women’s version.
For cushioning and responsiveness, the shoe incorporates Scott’s proprietary Kinetic Light Foam. The high-rebound midsole technology is engineered to offer enhanced energy return and durability while keeping overall weight to a minimum. To accommodate varying weather conditions, Scott is also offering a GORE-TEX version of the shoe, delivering waterproof, windproof, and breathable protection designed to dry quickly on wet runs.
The introduction of the Kinabalu MTN anchors Scott’s wider brand campaign, ‘Every Line Tells A Story’. According to the company, the campaign centres on the concept of individual running journeys, tracing paths from start lines to challenging trail routes.
Alongside the new footwear model, Scott’s wider autumn/fall collection includes performance apparel tailored for low-temperature training. Highlights from the seasonal range include the Endurance Warm Jacket, available in both men’s and women’s fits.
The jacket features Polartec Alpha insulation, designed to provide balanced thermal warmth and breathability during cold morning starts and evening runs. Built with a hybrid construction, it incorporates a high collar and a streamlined fit that moves naturally with a runner’s stride.
