Tapping into HYROX, trail running and endurance adventure: Amazfit adds 170+ features to T-Rex Pro 3 smartwatch

Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro adds over 170 features since 2025 launch

Wearable brand Amazfit is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the T-Rex Pro 3 by highlighting more than 170 new features and optimisations introduced via software updates since the smartwatch’s international launch in September 2025.

Originally built as a rugged GPS smartwatch tailored specifically for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and extreme environments, the T-Rex Pro 3 has significantly expanded through targeted software additions. The device now incorporates a comprehensive suite of advanced training metrics, specialised navigation tools, and dedicated performance features. These are designed to support road runners, trail runners, and the rapidly growing community of functional fitness and HYROX competitors.

“We are guided by the needs of our fans, who may focus on a single discipline today but want to try their hand at other sports in the future,” explained Jesus Carrero, General Manager of Amazfit Europe.

Available in both 44mm and 48mm case configurations, the smartwatch seeks to bridge the gap between rugged durability and multi-sport utility.

Updates deployed across the device’s feature set include enhancements tailored to three distinct user groups:

Runners and Trail Runners

  • Expanded data display: Users can now view up to eight training metrics simultaneously during a session – increased from the previous limit of six – chosen from a library of 100 individual metrics.
  • Flexible AI coaching: The Zepp Coach platform delivers dynamic, personalised training plans adjusted in real time based on user age, current fitness level, and recovery data.
  • Grade-adjusted pace: Trail runners gain real-time or average grade-adjusted pace metrics, translating undulating terrain effort into an equivalent flat-ground pace.
  • Lactate threshold tracking: A dedicated lactate threshold metric assists athletes in assessing current physiological capacity and structuring training zones.
  • Usability updates: Improved ambient light sensing for faster screen brightness adjustment, manual screen locking to prevent accidental workout interruptions during activity, and direct on-watch rate of perceived exertion (RPE) logging immediately post-session.

HYROX Athletes and Functional Fitness Competitors

  • Detailed Rox Zone analysis: The dedicated HYROX Race mode records split times spent within the Rox Zone transition areas between running segments and workout stations, providing post-race infographics detailing heart rate drift across specific stations and runs.
  • Hybrid Charge recovery monitoring: Previously restricted to select premium series models, this advanced recovery tracking metric is now active on the T-Rex Pro 3.
  • Training Balance and HYROX Simulation: Offers five dedicated training scenarios alongside custom workout creation tools for HYROX exercises, featuring single-button lap and exercise transition logging.
  • Expanded hardware compatibility: Pairs with Concept2 rowing machines and Stryd running power meters, as well as the Helio Strap Pro sensor for advanced nine-axis movement tracking during functional training movements.
  • Customised race strategies: Athletes can configure race strategies tailored to specific arena layouts, utilising HYROX Virtual Pace to monitor real-time metrics against pre-planned benchmarks.

Adventure Enthusiasts and Explorers

  • Built-in LED flashlight: Can now be activated directly via a press-and-hold shortcut on the UP button, with a simultaneous press of the UP and BACK buttons engaging a high-intensity Boost mode that increases illumination from 200 lux to 300 lux.
  • Faster map generation: Offline map rendering has been accelerated, with distinct visual differentiation between natural trails and urban roadways, alongside improved legibility for points of interest.
  • Loop Routes and navigation: Users can generate loop routes entirely in offline mode, with automatic course recalculation if the wearer strays from the designated path. The device can store up to 100 active routes.
  • Extended cycling support: Maximum route creation length within the companion Zepp App has been increased to 100km, accompanied by an optimized altitude measurement algorithm for total elevation tracking.
  • Enhanced diving capabilities: Certified to the 10 ATM water-resistance standard for dives up to 50m, the watch now features system-level automatic dive detection and refined depth measurement algorithms for both open water and enclosed aquatic environments.

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro 3 is available globally through authorised retail channels and the official Amazfit e-commerce platform.
