Triathlon de Portocolom sells out its 28th event edition

Bib numbers for the 28th edition of the Triathlon de Portocolom in Mallorca, Spain, have reportedly sold out well in advance of the event on April 12, 2026. Taking place in Felanitx, Mallorca, the race remains one of the oldest independent international fixtures on the European triathlon scene.

Participation for the event is limited to 600 athletes. According to the organising team, this cap is intended to ensure a high-quality experience for competitors and avoid the pressures of a larger mass-participation event.

The race is organised by Kumulus and Club Triatló Portocolom, with support from the Ajuntament de Felanitx and funding from the Fundació Mallorca Turisme.

The Triathlon de Portocolom features two distinct distances: the 111 (1,000m swim, 100km cycle, and 10km run) and the 55.5, which covers half those distances. The cycling segment is noted for its difficulty, including a double climb to Sant Salvador.

The run course passes through the historic centre of the town of Portocolom and past the Portocolom lighthouse. The race hub is located at the Club Nàutic, which serves as the site for the swim in the bay and the finish line.

Of the 600 entrants, 50% are international athletes. Women represent approximately 20% of the total field for the 2026 edition of the event.

The men’s field features a competitive line-up, including the expected return of Lukas Schnoedewind from Germany, who won the event in 2024. He is expected to face Lennert Cappan of Belgium, the champion from the 2025 season. In the women’s 111 race, British athlete Caroline Livesey, who is based in Mallorca, is considered a favourite for the victory.

For the 55.5 distance, local Balearic athletes Jaume Florit and Victoria Benavides will return to the course. Victoria Benavides is the reigning champion, having secured wins in both 2024 and 2025.

The organisers add that they aim to recreate the atmosphere experienced by the pioneers of the sport 30 years ago in the Mediterranean town.
