Castelli Spirit of Gravel: ‘loose cabal of supported gravel professionals’

Castelli Cycling has presented its 2025 Gravel Family. Billed as the ‘Spirit of Gravel’, the apparel specialist has gathered together a ‘loose cabal of supported gravel professionals’.

Castelli added… ‘We aren’t a team, but we share an ethos: the love of the sport, the desire to ride, escape, and explore, and the equal importance of new friendships, new horizons and throwing in a little bit of fun alongside the results.’

With the emergence of more formal teams in professional gravel racing, Castelli was keen to create an approach that offered riders some of the support that teams offer, whilst continuing to give riders the freedom to work with their own partners, on an individual basis. The company added that it has scouted riders from around the world: race winners, adventurers, cultural players and up and coming talent.

“We’re so excited to be working with such a crack squad of gravel riders,” said Castelli Brand Manager Steve Smith.

“Each rider is so unique in their approach and personality, bringing their own elements to the game. The spirit of gravel is supporting the privateer model. I love the freedom that gravel racing is, and we plan to harness that freedom, and give these riders a strong platform to perform, on and off the bike. They might not race as a team, but they will share a post-race beer like one.”

Castelli Spirit of Gravel riders:

Each rider’s jersey has been custom designed, as they race as individuals. Castelli added that their kit is a reflection on ‘whatever they could dream up’.

A small arm band design ties the jerseys together. To create an extra bit of support for the riders, all the jerseys are for sale, with or without logos, with a portion of the sales going back to each rider.

The riders will be outfitted in the full Castelli range, including the ‘Unlimited’ gravel range. The 13 riders will be key in testing and developing the range, to further grow the technology for Castelli’s all-terrain line.

Castelli ambassador Nathan Haas said “Innovation is the DNA of Castelli. In the four years I’ve been working with them as a gravel professional the development has been insane already. Now imagine how fast it will go with 13 riders to further the process. Every time I think it can’t get any better, it does. The future of Castelli gravel is unlimited.”
