DEKA, the functional fitness and hybrid racing brand from the creators of Spartan, has confirmed its official launch in Switzerland. Managed by the Gorilla Corporation team, DEKA Switzerland joins an international network that includes the United States, Australia, Canada, China, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
The expansion introduces a new fitness format for athletes in the region. While Spartan is known for outdoor obstacle races in locations such as Verbier and Ste Croix, DEKA offers indoor, year-round competition.
The DEKA format includes gym-hosted DEKA STRONG, MILE, and ATLAS challenges, alongside larger arena-hosted DEKA FIT events.
According to the company, the move is a pivotal step in its international mission to provide measurable and gamified fitness for all ability levels. The Swiss-based team already has a history of working with Spartan, making it the selected partner to introduce the format to the local community.

DEKA operates through an affiliate model that currently includes more than 1,000 gyms worldwide. The system is designed to be a sustainable training and testing programme, with over 1,500 events held across more than 12 countries.
The brand was developed as an evolution of Spartan, which has been a leader in obstacle course racing since 2010. Spartan currently organises more than 250 events across 40 countries, attracting more than one million annual participants.
US-based Spartan created the DEKA format to provide a high-intensity, scalable arena format that allows athletes to train and compete consistently regardless of the season.
