RunSignup, the employee-owned technology provider for US endurance events, has announced the launch of an AI-powered ‘Contact Us’ form for its clients’ race websites.
Built on the company’s new AI infrastructure, the feature uses artificial intelligence to answer common participant queries instantly before they reach an event organiser’s inbox.
The Contact Us form is a widely used tool across RunSignup websites, providing participants with a direct line to event teams while filtering out spam using CAPTCHA protection. With the integrated AI system, the form attempts to resolve questions on the spot by drawing from both the race website’s content and live data within the RunSignup database. If the AI cannot answer a question, participants are directed to human support.
Bob Bickel, Founder and CEO of RunSignup, said “We want to use AI to help race directors manage their races more efficiently so they can use their time for the things only humans can do – create amazing event experiences.
“While this release can significantly benefit races, it’s just the beginning. This signals the maturity of the AI infrastructure we have invested in, and races can expect to see an increasing number of AI tools to improve their efficiency and expand their access to data.”
The AI knowledge base updates automatically whenever race organisers edit their website content, ensuring information regarding packet pickup locations, FAQs, or course descriptions remains current. In addition, the system accesses live race database parameters – such as start times, price increases, refund rules, and transfer policies – in real time through built-in MCP tools.
RunSignup’s AI architecture retains human oversight, allowing participants to request human support while giving event directors full control. For organisers who already have the RunSignup AI Chatbot enabled on their website, the AI-powered Contact Us form is activated automatically with no additional setup required.
Headquartered in Moorestown, NJ, RunSignup is used by over 39,000 events to register more than 12 million annual participants and raise over US$3 billion for non-profit partners. Its open platform includes registration, free event websites, email marketing, integrated fundraising, and a suite of RaceDay Real-Time timing tools.
