Trail running specialist Kailas FUGA has unveiled the new FUGA EX PRO G, the latest evolution of its carbon-plated trail racing shoe, ahead of a number of high profile ultra-distance races this autumn/fall.
Building on the performance of the FUGA EX PRO, which has reportedly achieved more than 200 podium finishes since its launch in 2025, the FUGA EX PRO G has been developed for trail runners seeking race-ready performance with added protection on technical trails. Its integrated sock-like gaiter helps prevent gravel, stones and trail debris from entering the shoe.
Weighing 269g (EU42), with a 5mm drop and 4/6mm zoned lug configuration, the shoe is engineered for racing from 30–100km across mixed terrain. At its core is an X-shaped carbon plate designed to provide efficient forefoot flexion and forward propulsion, alongside a TPU supercritical foam midsole for lightweight cushioning and energy return.

Working together with our partners at Vibram we have enhanced the design whilst continuing our Kailas FUGA proprietary Power Grip.”
The shoe features Kailas FUGA’s Power Grip outsole, combining Vibram MEGAGRIP, LITEBASE and TRACTION LUG technologies to maximise traction across mixed conditions while reducing weight.
Additional features include the AWS 3.0 Secure Lockdown System, a dual lace tightening mechanism that secures the foot to help prevent toe jamming, and an XDiMESH upper designed for breathability.
The shoe was developed through Kailas FUGA’s athlete-led testing programme, combining feedback from the Kailas FUGA Team, its elite team and its 500+ member FUGA Mountain Club. The design was refined by Kailas FUGA Founder and Head of Product Development Baggio Zhong, with several athletes selecting the shoe for their 2026 race calendars, including UTMB and TorX.
The FUGA EX PRO G will be available to purchase on the brand’s website from August 29, 2026.
