Supertri, the short-course triathlon event organiser, has announced the acquisition of the Brighton & Hove Triathlon. The event will be rebranded as Supertri Brighton from 2027, becoming the second Supertri event in the UK alongside Supertri Blenheim Palace.
This year’s Brighton & Hove Triathlon will take place under its current name on September 6, 2026, on its seafront course. Entries for the inaugural Supertri Brighton in 2027 will open shortly after the September 6, 2026 event.
Staged along Hove Lawns and the Brighton seafront promenade, the Brighton & Hove Triathlon has grown into a notable event on the British triathlon calendar since its launch in the mid-2010s. Growing from around 1,600 entrants by the end of the decade, the event sold out in both 2024 and 2025.
The course is flat and traffic-free, catering to beginners and experienced athletes. The event offers a range of options, including Super-Sprint, Sprint, and Olympic distances alongside relay options and supporting races.
In recent years the event has been developed and delivered by TriBourne Multisport Events. Supertri plans to release further updates regarding the event’s future under its ownership in the coming weeks.
The acquisition expands Supertri’s portfolio of short-course events across North America and Europe. Headquartered in London, Supertri stages mass-participation triathlons in landmark venues, and in 2026 introduced a unified race model that brings professional and amateur athletes together on the same courses.
Brighton joins a portfolio that includes Supertri Chicago and Supertri Blenheim Palace. As Supertri’s second UK event, Supertri Brighton complements the setting of Blenheim Palace with a seafront experience.
