Specialist retailer XMiles has launched its Nutrition Calculator 2.0 to simplify athletes’ planning for races and training sessions.
Building on its original platform, the free tool creates personalised nutrition targets using an athlete’s sport, distance, predicted time, and body metrics. It assists athletes in converting these metrics into a plan by selecting nutrition products, quantities, and timings for use before, during, and after an event.
Plans are saved to the user’s account, allowing athletes to make modifications and create separate lists for different events or training sessions. Once finalised, selected products can be added to the shopping basket simultaneously, and the full plan can be printed as a reference sheet for race day.
The update incorporates several endurance nutrition strategies into the guided process. Carbohydrate loading, nitrate loading, and bicarbonate use have been integrated, aiming to help athletes understand where each strategy fits while organising products and timings alongside their overall plan.
Anthony Clark, Founder at XMiles, said “Sports nutrition advice is everywhere, but turning it into a plan for your own event can still feel complicated. Athletes are often left working across notes, spreadsheets and several product pages to understand what they need and when they need it.
“We wanted to bring that entire process into one place. The new calculator gives you clear targets, lets you choose the products you want to use and produces a plan you can save, shop and print. It is about making good nutrition planning easier to understand and much easier to put into practice.”
The launch follows the introduction of XMiles’ nutrition comparison feature, which enables customers to compare sports nutrition products side by side. From a product page on the XMiles site, users can review price, serving information, calories, carbohydrates, sodium, caffeine, and protein in a single view. The feature also displays cost per serving for specific nutrients to show relative value.
The Nutrition Calculator 2.0 is designed for runners, cyclists, triathletes, and other endurance athletes preparing for events ranging from training sessions and 10km races to marathons, triathlons, and ultras. It is free to use with an XMiles account.
