On has launched the Cloudsurfer 3, introducing the Swiss sportswear brand’s new Surreal superfoam alongside a re-engineered CloudTec Phase cushioning system.
According to On, the everyday running shoe has been designed to deliver high levels of underfoot cushioning for casual, recovery, and long training runs.
Developed at On Labs in Zurich, Surreal superfoam represents a new foam compound for the brand that is lighter, softer, and more responsive than its previous everyday Helion foam compound. Internal Advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) testing by On indicates that combining Surreal superfoam with the CloudTec Phase structure yields a 15.5% increase in impact compression and a 9.9% reduction in peak braking force compared to un-engineered superfoam.

“Bringing our foam development, structural engineering and biomechanical capabilities together at On Labs allowed us to do exactly that. The Cloudsurfer 3 is the first expression of this breakthrough, and we’re excited to keep exploring Surreal’s potential across our running footwear portfolio.”
