Swedish brand Craft Sportswear has commenced the international roll-out of the Kype Pro, which is positioned as the pinnacle model of Craft’s road running footwear range.
Initially previewed at the 2024 NYC Marathon Craft pop-up, the Kype Pro has been engineered for both marathon and half-marathon athletes. At the core of the Kype Pro is Craft’s Xx Foam with Pebax midsole, a material that delivers high-rebound cushioning while maintaining lightness and durability.
The advanced foam is engineered for energy return, helping to propel runners forward with efficiency. Complementing the Xx Foam is a carbon fibre plate developed in collaboration with Arris.
Weighing just 14g, the ultra-light carbon plate offers a claimed 30% in weight savings while delivering enhanced stiffness for propulsion and stability. Its unique split heel design also helps to reduce ground contact, enabling a quicker toe-off for smoother, faster strides.
The Kype Pro also introduces the Craft Lightsole outsole, developed with cycling tyre specialist Vittoria. Inspired by Vittoria’s Open Corsa PRO Control tyre, this lightweight, high-traction outsole provides grip and performance in varying weather conditions.
For the upper, the Kype Pro incorporates Craft Aero Mesh technology, an ultra-light mono yarn knit. This breathable, flexible fabric helps with durability over long distances while allowing for natural movement, enhancing overall running efficiency and comfort.
“The Kype Pro is more than just speed – it’s a result of our relentless drive for perfection,” said Daniel Högling, Creative Director at Craft.
“From its sleek, aerodynamic design to the precision-engineered carbon plate, every detail has a purpose. This shoe blends innovation and craftsmanship to push boundaries and redefine what’s possible in running footwear.
“The Kype Pro marks the start of a new era for Craft, where performance and design come together like never before.”
