Italian cycling and triathlon apparel brand Castelli has launched the latest evolution of its flagship race suit, the PR 3 Speed Suit.
According to the apparel specialist, the new suit is the result of a decade of aerodynamic research and athlete testing. According to Castelli, it combines efficiency, thermoregulation, and long-distance comfort to meet the demands of elite non-drafting, middle-, and long-distance racing.
The PR 3 features a new construction with engineered ribbed sleeve fabrics designed to optimise airflow and reduce drag. The design was validated through wind tunnel and real-world testing with professional athletes such as Laura Philipp, Paula Findlay, and Rico Bogen.
The upper portion of the suit utilizes an ultralight 50-denier fabric, which is the thinnest material Castelli has ever used in a speed suit. This is intended to maximise cooling for the athlete while maintaining aerodynamic properties.
The lower section of the suit incorporates a gradient-stretch woven fabric, inspired by the brand’s Premio Evo bibshorts, to provide muscle support and reduce friction during endurance efforts.
Specific race details included in the PR 3 Speed Suit are:
- An integrated rear pocket designed to minimise airflow disruption
- A dedicated GPS pocket placed for comfort and accessibility
- An internal neck ice pocket for heat management in extreme racing conditions
- The KISS Tri Pad, which aims to balance on-bike comfort with unrestricted movement during the run
In addition to the suit, Castelli has introduced PR Leg Sleeves to its triathlon collection for the first time. These are designed to reduce drag on the calf while on the bike and feature a rear stretch panel for ease of use.

The men’s PR 3 Speed Suit is available in Black and Ice White/Black, while the women’s version is available in Black. The suit is priced at £400.00, US$450.00, or €400.00.
The PR Leg Sleeves are available in White/Black and are priced at £79.00, US$85.00, or €75.00.
Founded in 1876, Castelli has been a pioneer in cycling apparel for nearly 150 years. The brand is credited with introducing performance breakthroughs such as the first Lycra shorts and continues to develop technical gear tested by UCI WorldTour athletes.
