Giro d’Italia Women 2026 entry list and TV coverage confirmed

Giro d'Italia Women 2026 entry list and TV coverage confirmed

The official entry list for the Giro d’Italia Women 2026 has been confirmed by race organiser RCS Sport, with a high-calibre field set to compete for the Maglia Rosa.

The 2026 edition of the race will get underway on May 30, 2026 from the Romagna Riviera in Cesenatico. The event concludes on June 7, 2026 in Saluzzo after nine stages covering a total of 1,179.7km and 12,100m of elevation gain.

A team presentation is scheduled to take place on May 29th in Cesenatico to introduce the riders to the public before the Grande Partenza.

Leading the field is Elisa Longo Borghini, who has won the last two editions of the race. She faces competition from the full podium of the 2025 edition, including reigning world time trial champion Marlen Reusser and Sarah Gigante, who secured two stage wins and the Mountains Classification in the 2025 season.

The 2026 line-up also sees the return of several high-profile riders to the Italian Grand Tour. European champion Demi Vollering, who has already secured victories at the Tour of Flanders and Liège–Bastogne–Liège Femmes this season, is confirmed to start.

She is joined by four-time winner Anna van der Breggen, who took the title in 2015, 2017, 2020 and 2021. Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney, winner of the 2024 Tour de France Femmes, returns to the Giro d’Italia Women for the first time in six years after finishing second in her last appearance.

The sprint classification is expected to be a focal point of the nine-day race. Lorena Wiebes, the 2025 Points Classification winner, leads the sprint field alongside Charlotte Kool.

Italian interest in the sprint stages remains high with Chiara Consonni and former world champion Elisa Balsamo both confirmed. Lara Gillespie also joins the field following a strong opening to the season.

Stage hunters and specialists listed for the event include world champion Magdeleine Vallieres and young talent Cat Ferguson. Other notable names include Elise Chabbey, winner of Strade Bianche Women; Pfeiffer Georgi; Eleonora Gasparrini; and 2024 stage winner Niamh Fisher-Black.

RCS Sport has confirmed international TV coverage for the event. In Europe, distribution is primarily through Warner Bros Discovery, with coverage on Eurosport, HBO Max and Discovery+.

UK viewers can follow the race on TNT Sports, while free-to-air coverage is available in Italy via Rai, and in Belgium via RTBF and VRT. North American coverage will be provided by FloSports through the Flobikes channel, as well as HBO Max.
