Gretel Planner has officially launched version 2.0 of its platform, updating its race planning software for athletes and event organisers.
The updated platform features an optimised interface across mobile, tablet and desktop devices, alongside a new visual identity and revised navigation. The platform aims to convert complex race variables into actionable race strategies.
For race organisers, Gretel Planner operates as a technology partner designed to improve the participant experience, increase reach and support event safety. The platform gives events exposure to a community of more than 20,000 athletes, helping organisers drive registrations and ensure competitors are prepared for course demands.
By providing participants with clearer planning details, the software helps reduce risks associated with poor pacing or logistical errors. This assists organisers in managing key points along the route and optimizing safety and medical resources.
Jorge Vilanova, CEO of Gretel Planner said “For us, the goal remains the same as it was six years ago: to support organisers in every way we can and improve the experience and safety of participants.”
The version 2.0 update reorganises complex course information, helping to make long-duration strategies, significant elevation changes and aid station locations easier to interpret on smaller screens.
International event series and race organisers, such as Spartan, selected events within the Skyrunner World Series, and the One Hundred World Championship, have integrated Gretel technology into their events.
The platform is also used by independent events across multiple countries, with plans to expand into additional races, sports disciplines and international markets over the coming months.
