Bike the Coast Ventura will host its inaugural event on June 13, 2026, showcasing the Ventura, CA community. The event has focused on building partnerships with local businesses, charities, and tourism organisations within the region.
Sponsors and partners for this year include Visit Ventura, Downtown Ventura Association, Ventura Coast Brewing Company, and Ventura Coast Cycling. The event has also partnered with local non-profit organisations, including the Los Angeles Chapter of National MS and the Downtown Ventura Foundation.
The event is organised by Spectrum Sports Management, a producer of endurance and sporting events in southern California. Early involvement from the community includes the booking of Ventura-based band The GAMBLE at the free Finish Festival, which will feature local food, drink, and vendors for riders and spectators.
Mike Bone, President and CEO of Spectrum Sports Management, said “Bike the Coast is an event that is meant to be enjoyed by all. We push the idea of this being a ‘ride, not a race’ so that participants can truly take in all that Ventura has to offer, whether it be the scenery or the amazing community that has already been so supportive of our event. Ensuring that this is a community-centric ride is very important to us, and we hope that our participants feel that at our inaugural event.”
The ride welcomes cyclists of all ages and experience levels, offering three course options. These include the Metric Century 65 miles ride, a 35 miles ride, and a 17 miles family ride. Participants on the 65 miles route will tour the coastline and hills in neighbouring cities, while the 35 miles and 17 miles courses feature constant ocean views along the roads. All courses feature support and gear locations for rest and nutrition.
The event is an expansion of the original Bike the Coast event hosted in San Diego County, CA, which is entering its fifteenth year. The expansion into Ventura allows riders to participate in a leisure oceanside ride followed by a post-event party.
The 2025 Bike the Coast San Diego ride raised over US$10,000 for Bike MS, marking a record amount for the event after three years of partnering with the organisation.
Spectrum Sports Management & Timing Services points out that it has over 50 years of collective industry experience creating and managing sporting events in southern California. Registration for the 2026 event is currently open, and more information can be found online.
