IRONMAN Pro Series makes debut in Idaho with 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Boise

The Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series will make its debut in Idaho on Saturday, July 25, 2026, as The IRONMAN Group, takes the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Boise triathlon to the ‘City of Trees’.

With 2,500 Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series points and a US$50,000 professional prize purse on offer, the race represents a mid-season opportunity for athletes looking to strengthen their position in the season-long championship race.

The 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Boise triathlon will showcase the best of Idaho’s capital city, beginning with a 1.2-mile swim in Lucky Peak Reservoir before athletes take on a scenic 56-mile bike course through the Boise foothills and surrounding countryside. Competitors will then tackle a fast, spectator-friendly 13.1-mile run along the Boise River Greenbelt before crossing the finish line at Julia Davis Park in downtown Boise.

In addition to the pro athlete field, thousands of age-group athletes are expected to compete as Boise hosts its first-ever Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series event.

The race will be broadcast live and free for all international audiences across IRONMAN YouTube, ironman.com/proseries, and DAZN. Additional regional live broadcast and highlight shows will also be available on L’Équipe Live in France, ESPN (within Disney+), SuperSport, hr-Fernsehen, RTVE, iQIYI, and Outside TV. Women’s professional field
The women’s professional race features a deep field, led by Hannah Berry from New Zealand, wearing bib number one, who currently sits fifth in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series standings with 9,734 points. Berry has enjoyed another strong campaign in the 2026 season, highlighted by consistent performances across both IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 competition. She arrives in Boise looking to close the gap on current series leader Solveig Løvseth, who is not slated to race in Idaho.

Currently having the event as a contingency, a return to Boise is defending champion Paula Findlay from Canada. Findlay captured victory at the event’s return in the 2025 season before adding another major title to her resume this season with a commanding victory at the IRONMAN 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley North American Championship.

Lydia Russell from the US enters Boise carrying momentum after back-to-back runner-up finishes at two of the season’s most competitive events. The American followed her second-place finish at the IRONMAN 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley North American Championship with another runner-up performance at IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant.

Grace Thek from Australia plans to arrive as one of the most in-form athletes on the circuit. Currently sixth in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series standings with 9,472 points, Thek has put together an impressive string of performances throughout the 2026 season and will be looking to continue her climb up the rankings with another strong result in Boise.

The American contingent is headlined by Grace Alexander, who has enjoyed a breakthrough 2026 campaign that included back-to-back victories at IRONMAN 70.3 Gulf Coast and IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga. Joining her is Lydia Russell, already a two-time IRONMAN 70.3 runner-up this year, Chelsea Sodaro, the 2022 IRONMAN World Champion, and Olympian Kirsten Kasper, entering only her third IRONMAN 70.3 race as one of the strongest swimmers in the professional ranks.

Additional international depth comes from Lisa Perterer from Austria, who has opened her 2026 season with strong performances, including a fifth-place finish at the IRONMAN Hamburg European Championship. Rebecca Clarke from New Zealand, Hanne De Vet from Belgium, and Lisa Becharas from the US add further strength to the women’s race.

Men’s professional field
Defending IRONMAN 70.3 Boise champion Sam Appleton from Australia returns to the City of Trees after winning the event’s return in the 2025 season. Appleton’s experience on the course could prove valuable as he looks to repeat last year’s success against a deep field.

Ari Klau from the US enters Boise riding a wave of momentum following one of the strongest stretches of his professional career. The American recently claimed a victory at IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant, showcasing his well-rounded skillset.

Another American athlete tracking well in this year’s Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series is veteran Matt Hanson. Hanson has continued his consistency throughout the 2026 season and currently sits fifth overall in the standings with 10,814 points, keeping him firmly in the championship conversation heading into the second half of the season.

French Olympian Vincent Luis adds firepower to the men’s field and currently occupies ninth place in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series standings with 9,432 points. Luis has already demonstrated his potential over longer distances this season, including a fifth-place finish at the Mainova IRONMAN Frankfurt European Championship and a fourth-place finish at the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship.

Sam Long from the US returns to racing looking to gain valuable ground in the points standings. Known for his aggressive bike and run performances, Long has consistently been among the most exciting athletes on the circuit and will have his sights set on a podium finish.

Also expected to contend is Trevor Foley from the US, who claimed victories at both ANZCO Foods IRONMAN New Zealand and the IRONMAN 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley North American Championship earlier this season.

Additional challengers include Justin Metzler from the US, Brock Hoel from Canada, currently ranked among the top 10 athletes in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series standings, Jackson Laundry from Canada, and veteran triathlete and former professional cyclist Cameron Wurf from Australia.

With championship points, prize money, and valuable late-season momentum on the line, the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Boise triathlon is set to deliver competitive racing throughout the day in Long Beach, CA. The event will also welcome a strong age-group field, creating a buzzing race weekend in the heart of Boise.
