Lusail City confirmed as Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final venue

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and Visit Qatar have announced that Lusail City will host the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final for the second consecutive year. The event is scheduled to take place from December 10–12, 2026.

As the climax of the T100 Triathlon World Tour, the race in Qatar’s waterfront city will follow a nine-stop international circuit. The 2026 season began on the Gold Coast in March and includes locations such as Singapore, San Francisco, and London before the showdown in Lusail, Qatar. Last year, the series titles were secured by British athlete Kate Waugh and New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde.

Athlete’s will race over PTO’s signature T100 distance, which consists of a 2km swim in the Arabian Gulf, an 80km bike leg through the streets of Lusail, and an 18km run through Lusail Plaza and Boulevard.

According to PTO, the event is expected to attract more than 5,000 amateur athletes from Qatar and abroad. The 2026 programme also includes the second edition of the T100 Age Grouper World Championships. To qualify for this category, participants must finish in the top 10 of their age group at a T100 Triathlon World Tour event during the season and register by October 31, 2026.

A three-day festival weekend features additional community participation opportunities, including an Open T100 race, sprint distance triathlons (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run), and 1km and 5km run events.

In a 12-year partnership between PTO and World Triathlon, the T100 Triathlon World Tour is designated as the official world championship for long-distance triathlon. The 2026 tour stops include:

  • Gold Coast (March 21–22)
  • Singapore (April 25–26)
