British Triathlon has appointed Dr Claire-Marie Roberts as Independent Non-Executive Director for Performance and Sport Integrity, joining the Board at its meeting on September 10, 2026.
Dr Roberts brings extensive experience across elite sport, high-performance environments, athlete welfare, clean sport, and governance. Her appointment will strengthen the Board’s strategic oversight of performance pathways, safeguarding, anti-doping, welfare, and wider sport integrity as the national governing body continues to build towards LA 2028 and beyond.
Currently Director of Human Performance at McLaren Racing and a Chartered Psychologist, Dr Roberts has executive leadership experience across elite sport. She has held senior roles across Formula 1, professional football, and rugby, leading the development of integrated high-performance systems. She has also worked as a British Olympic Association accredited psychologist, supporting Team GB programmes across Olympic Games cycles, and held an Independent Non-Executive Director position at UK Anti-Doping.

Dr Roberts’ Board and committee experience includes serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director of UK Anti-Doping, an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bath Rugby, a Trustee of the Rugby Players’ Association charity Restart, and a disciplinary and anti-doping panel member for The Football Association. She is also Co-Founder of the Women in Sport & Exercise Academic Network.
