Pinarello rolls-out Bolide F TR triathlon bike

Italian bicycle manufacturer Pinarello has introduced the Bolide F TR, a dedicated triathlon bike engineered for non-draft, long-distance multisport racing.

The new triathlon bike made its competitive debut at the 2026 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, last weekend, ridden by professional athletes Cameron Wurf, Youri Keulen, Gregory Barnaby, and Jan Stratmann.

Designed without the constraints of UCI regulations for time trial frames, the Bolide F TR features a revised geometry with a 25mm longer reach to accommodate forward-orientated triathlon fitting positions.

The frame relies on Torayca carbon fibre structures across three tier configurations: the top-spec Bolide F TR 9 and Bolide F TR 7 utilise ‘AeroMatrix Superlight’ layups for high stiffness-to-weight efficiency, while the Bolide F TR 5 incorporates an ‘AeroMatrix Performance’ carbon structure focused on vibration damping.

Key aerodynamic developments include the Aero Knods front fork, derived from Pinarello’s Hour Record development, alongside an Aero Knods seat tube featuring an AirStream-inspired profile to reduce turbulence around the rider’s legs. Additional frame features include 30mm tyre clearance, full dropout compatibility, and a travel-ready cockpit designed for easy assembly and disassembly.

The cockpit system includes the integrated TR Bar and Olympic Extension Bar setup as standard on both complete builds and frame kits. The aerobar assembly offers continuous fore/aft extension translation up to 25mm, inclination adjustments from 10° to 30° in 5° steps, armrest pad fore/aft movement across a 67.5mm range, and five width options across 25mm steps, alongside stack elevation capabilities up to +60mm using integrated spacers.

Fausto Pinarello, President at Pinarello, said “At Pinarello, racing is in our DNA, and our goal with the Bolide F TR was simple: to step outside traditional constraints and build the fastest, most adaptable triathlon bike in the world.

“By applying our Hour Record and Grand Tour-winning engineering specifically to the demands of long-distance triathlon, we have delivered a machine with zero compromises. Kona is the ultimate proving ground, and we are excited to show what this exceptional bike can achieve.”

The Bolide F TR will be available for consumer purchase starting in January 2027, with complete bike builds starting at €7,700 (US$8,600).
