Realbuzz has been named the Exclusive Charity Programme Partner of the Valencia Marathon in a new multi-year agreement.
The deal expands an established four-year relationship between the charity running provider and the event, elevating the collaboration to an official and exclusive level. Under the new terms, Realbuzz holds the sole rights to lead the marathon’s charity programme, with an administrative target of driving more than €4.5 million in fundraising impact over the duration of the contract.
Organised by the Valencian sports club SD Correcaminos alongside Valencia City Council, the race is held each December on a flat, fast course in the Spanish city. The event transitioned to a ballot entry system ahead of the upcoming December 6, 2026 race. The introduction of the draw attracted approximately 57,500 applicants competing for the 36,000 available participant entries.
A central element of the expanded strategy is the introduction of a unified charity programme managed by Realbuzz. For the first time in the event’s history, this initiative will bring domestic and international charities together under a single framework. Realbuzz plans to utilise its established international network and digital registration infrastructure to integrate new organisations into the event.
With the exclusive partnership now active, the charity platform provider is focused on increasing charity runner participation. This aims to more than double international charity entries by the end of the 2027 season, focusing heavily on recruitment across the UK, US and Ireland.
Nick Hollowood, Chief Commercial Officer at Realbuzz, said “Our goal is to make Valencia a flagship moment in the global charity running calendar, a race that charities around the world actively want to be part of, year after year. The fundraising ambition is significant, but what excites us most is the long-term platform this creates for charities to engage a truly international running community.”
Paco Borao, Race Director at the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich, said “Realbuzz brings the expertise, the global reach and the charity relationships to take this to a scale we haven’t seen before at Valencia. We are committed to creating global impact for charities through the event and this partnership helps us deliver that at scale. We look forward to welcoming a new wave of purpose-driven runners to one of the world’s great marathon cities.”
The integration places the Spanish race alongside other mass-participation events within Realbuzz’s international portfolio, reflecting a broader trend of athletes selecting endurance events that combine athletic performance with charitable fundraising.
