T1 Liévin World Triathlon Indoor Cup 2026 postponed

World Triathlon, along with the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), and the local organising committee (LOC) of the Liévin Triathlon Indoor Festival have announced the postponement of the 2026 T1 Liévin World Triathlon Indoor Cup. The event was originally scheduled to take place in Liévin, France, on March 7, 2026.

According to the organisers, the decision followed extensive discussions with local stakeholders and a review of possible solutions to maintain the original date. The postponement was deemed necessary as the parties involved felt unable to deliver the experience to the high standards set previously without compromising the ‘long-term sustainability’ of the project.

Last year, the T1 Liévin World Cup 2025 event expanded the collaboration between World Triathlon and PTO into the indoor arena. It utilised an indoor arena venue to offer a ‘unique and spectacular’ racing format that the organised claimed… ‘proved popular with onsite spectators and television audiences.’ World Triathlon added that… ‘The event has recently become a reference point for innovation within the international triathlon calendar.’

In a statement, the organisers noted that the decision not to welcome the triathlon community to Liévin this March was difficult. The LOC, World Triathlon, and the PTO thanked athletes, coaches, national federations, and volunteers for their continued support.

All parties have stated they remain committed to the concept of indoor triathlon in Liévin. They will now work together to explore options to reschedule the event in the future, with the aim of returning with an edition that meets the expectations of the triathlon community.
