Selle Italia has presented the Model X Green Superflow, the first saddle to emerge from the company’s new Green-Tech production process.
The product has been fully designed and developed in Italy. The Italian saddle specialist added that the new saddle is… ‘A revolutionary product, unique to its kind throughout the world, which combines high performance, care for the environment, Italian manufacturing and competitive pricing.’
Since its founding, Selle Italia has invested in research and development. It recently introduced Green-Tech: a production process for products with a claimed low environmental impact, and which are… ‘eco-sustainable and quick to produce at competitive prices.’
The Green-Tech automated saddle production system produces top-of-the-range saddles without the use of glues and polyurethanes, known for their environmental impact.
The Model X Green Superflow utilises mechanical assembly of three components without the use of polluting adhesive substances. The saddle was produced using Flex Control technology, which is ‘composed of two elements with differing flexibility, able to ensure greater comfort and superior resistance with respect to other similarly priced products.’
The third component is the rail in Fec Alloy, a resistant and flexible iron-carbon steel alloy.
Selle Italia adds that the stand-out technical features of the Model X Green Superflow saddle include:
- Total Gel padding (with integrated antibacterial treatment), which covers the entire surface of the shell; and
- The waved form, making this saddle for cyclists who maintain a more stable position, even during long rides.
Using Selle Italia’s IDmatch system, with this new saddle’s waved form it is particularly suited to those with a posterior pelvic tilt.
