ROUVY introduces community features for real-world indoor cycling

Indoor cycling platform ROUVY has updated the way riders interact across its collection of real-world routes by introducing a new suite of social features.

From June 16, 2026, the Prague-based indoor cycling reality specialist has launched Clubs, Communities and In-Ride Chat functions to enable shared interactions before, during and after virtual rides.

The update aims to connect users across ROUVY’s extensive library of global routes, whether athletes are preparing for an IRONMAN on a specific race course, exploring the climbs of the Grand Tours or tackling international locations from home.

The new In-Ride Chat feature allows users to engage in live discussions with other riders on their chosen routes. Cyclists can join conversations using either the ROUVY Companion App or within the app itself, with an option to turn the chat off when focus is required.

The Clubs feature is designed to bring friends or club mates together in a dedicated space for discussion, motivation and competition. It includes a weekly leaderboard between members, alongside club chat and discussion feeds. ROUVY Clubs can be set up as open groups or as private, invitation-only spaces. Each club can hold up to 30 members and is discoverable via the ROUVY app, Companion App or Rider Portal.

For broader engagement, the Communities feature brings riders together within official brand channels, event series discussions and shared training topics. All communities are open for anyone to join and feature a communication feed. These can include groups for athletes preparing for an IRONMAN race route, or official team communities for fans of professional cycling outfits such as Lidl-Trek and Visma | Lease-a-Bike. Each community has an owner, can include designated curators, and is discoverable across ROUVY’s applications.

Marek-Martin Matyska, VP of Product at ROUVY, said “Developing and fostering engagement between our community members is something that we’ve been working on for some time, fuelled by feedback from our users.

“With the new Chat, Clubs and Communities features, ROUVY users can now finally group and bond, which we believe will continue to motivate riders to keep going, riding further and harder, after all cycling always was and will be a social activity and it was about time that we brought that major aspect to ROUVY. We are strong believers that riding and exploring the world together brings a new aspect to how people ride on ROUVY.”

Professional cycling teams Lidl-Trek and Team Visma | Lease a Bike are among the organisations creating official communities on the platform.

Herman Ten Kate, Head of Marketing & E-commerce at Team Visma | Lease a Bike, said “The new functionality provides a really smart way for us as a team to engage with our fans around the world on ROUVY and to bring them together around our virtual group rides and during races throughout the calendar, too. We’re looking forward to building and developing the Team Visma | Lease a Bike ROUVY community and conversation.”

This introduction follows the recent launch of the ROUVY Companion App 2.0. The updated secondary application allows users to track their outdoor activities alongside indoor training to contribute to an overall fitness score, providing a more complete approach to training plans.

Now owned by Zwift, ROUVY’s offering includes both the ROUVY and FulGaz indoor cycling platforms. It operates as an official partner to various endurance sporting organisations, such as IRONMAN, Challenge Family and the LifeTime Grand Prix. New users can access a free seven-day trial before choosing between monthly or annual subscription plans.
