RaceNation, the integrated event registration and fundraising platform, has released a new Account Credit feature. This allows entrants and organisers to manage funds directly on the platform. The system is designed to make signing up for events an easier process with the added support of boosting cash flow for organisers.
In a release, RaceNation noted… ‘With so many events cancelled or postponed in recent times, event organisers required a solution to provide confidence to entrants that their booking or money was safe. This Account Credit feature will allow event organisers to reimburse or apply a balance to their entrants’ accounts who will then be able to purchase event tickets and merchandise on the organisation’s storefront.
‘Built with flexibility in mind, customers can choose at the checkout whether they want to apply their account credit or pay with their bank card for their basket.
‘Organisers will now also be able to refund their entrants if an event is cancelled or postponed with a credit amount instead of cash, allowing the organisation to hold onto funds and prompt entrants to purchase tickets for an alternative event.’
Designed to deal with a growing base of RaceNation users and to meet appetite for organisers to maintain cash flow during difficult times, the new development will be available as standard to the 2,000+ events using RaceNation.
Will Golder, CEO of RaceNation, said “As we look ahead to events returning, we still have to be mindful of ongoing or regional restrictions that might impact the event and charity sectors. We hope this new account credit system will add more flexibility to support our event organisers, whilst also providing a tool to help entrants retain their booking values and allowing an easier booking process in the future.
“This will be a valuable tool for all our users and the next phase in a pledge we made at the start of the pandemic to help and support the industry. We look forward to seeing everyone back at start lines across the country again soon.”
RaceNation has already announced a number campaigns to support the rebuild of the event sector so badly hit by the pandemic, having recently extended a partnership with The National Running Show that will allow organisers to advertise their event for free at the show. RaceNation also developed virtual events integrated with Strava while improving organiser protection with Event Protect and Refund Protect services.
