The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and Visit Qatar have confirmed the return of the 5K Kick Off Run mass participation event at this year’s 2026 Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final.
Lusail City on the eastern coast of Qatar will host the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final events on December 10–12, 2026.
Taking place on December 10, 2026, at Lusail Boulevard in Doha, Qatar, the untimed Kick Off Run features both 5km and 1km distance options designed for participants of all ages and abilities. The 1km run starts at 17:45 AST, followed by the 5km run at 18:30 AST. All entrants will receive a race t-shirt, light band, and finisher medal.
According to PTO, the inaugural Qatar T100 Triathlon event in 2025 welcomed more than 3,000 participants and featured Visit Qatar ambassador Mo Farah as the official starter.
Sam Renouf, Chief Executive Officer at PTO, said “The aim of our T100 events is to grow the sport by encouraging athletes of all levels to get involved in swim, bike or run and become more active. The Qatar T100 Kick Off Run is untimed, easy to enter and welcomes participants of all abilities to be part of another exciting week for the sport in Qatar.”
The Kick Off Run marks the start of the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final weekend, leading into the professional men’s and women’s final races on Friday, December 11, 2026, and the T100 Age-Group World Championships on Saturday, December 12, 2026. The weekend also includes open 100km and Sprint distance triathlons alongside new relay options.
The professional standings heading into the final are led by 2025 T100 World Champion Hayden Wilde from New Zealand in the men’s rankings, and Swiss Olympic medallist Julie Derron in the women’s rankings.
