Performance footwear brand Altra has launched the Vanish Tempo 2, a lightweight, plated speed trainer positioned as the primary training companion to the brand’s flagship racing model, the Vanish Carbon 3.
Designed for fast-paced training sessions, tempo efforts, and race-day use, the updated Vanish Tempo model introduces Altra’s FAST TRN dual-density supercritical foam midsole paired with an articulated split PEBAX plate. According to Altra, the plate construction provides propulsive responsiveness while maintaining natural forefoot movement. The shoe incorporates Altra’s signature FootShape Footwear Fit to allow toe splay within a race-oriented fit profile.
Technical specifications feature a 4mm heel-to-toe drop (34mm heel / 30mm forefoot stack height) and an engineered mesh upper with an independent lower eyelet lockdown system. Weight figures are listed at 208g for the women’s version and 243g for the men’s model depending on size.
The Altra Vanish Tempo 2 is currently available via Altra’s direct e-commerce platform and selected specialty running retailers at a retail price in the UK of £175.
