The McCourt Foundation (TMF) has named non-opioid prescription medication JOURNAVX (suzetrigine) as the Official Acute Pain Partner of the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon and across its broader endurance event portfolio.
The partnership supports TMF’s broader event series leading into the 2027 ASICS Los Angeles Marathon, scheduled for March 7, 2027. The marathon expects to host over 26,000 runners along its 26.2-mile Stadium-to-the-Stars route from Dodger Stadium to Century City, serving as the final leg of the Conquer LA Challenge series.
Developed by Vertex Pharmaceuticals, JOURNAVX is an oral non-opioid prescription medication indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe acute pain in adults, including postoperative pain.
The multi-event partnership with LA Marathon organiser TMF debuted at the Santa Monica Classic and extends across TMF’s southern California and Boston calendar, including the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K, the Boston Waterfront 5K, and the flagship ASICS Los Angeles Marathon.
The sponsorship aims to educate the endurance running community on non-opioid options for managing acute pain during training and recovery, as well as encouraging runners to consult healthcare providers regarding appropriate pain management protocols. The collaboration incorporates product information and educational content across pre- and post-race digital communications, alongside on-site brand activations and spectator engagements across event weekends.
