The IRONMAN Group has announced four new additions to its international racing calendar for the 2027 season, headlined by the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Amdavad in India, alongside new middle- and full-distance events in New York, Utah, and Montana.
IRONMAN 70.3 Amdavad
Scheduled for February 14, 2027, the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Amdavad brings the long-distance triathlon series to Gujarat, India, for the first time. The race coincides with Gujarat Tourism Year 2026–27, highlighting the region’s expanding role as a sports tourism hub.
Michelle Pepper, Managing Director for Asia-Pacific at The IRONMAN Group, said “We can’t wait to welcome athletes to the first-ever IRONMAN 70.3 Amdavad triathlon next February. We have witnessed growth in participation and interest in endurance sports across India, and we are excited to build on that momentum with a world-class event in Gujarat.
“Amdavad combines rich cultural heritage with outstanding infrastructure and will provide an unforgettable experience for athletes, supporters and visitors alike.”
The race format covers a 1.9km swim in the Sabarmati River starting and finishing near the Atal Bridge, a 90km bike course consisting of three 30km loops along city roads and the riverfront, and a flat 21.1km run comprising three loops along the Sabarmati Riverfront promenade before concluding across the Atal Bridge. Entries opened on October 14, 2026.
