Marathon Tours & Travel has confirmed the launch of a new event, the Greek Odyssey Running Festival, taking place in Costa Navarino, Greece on November 14, 2026. The event includes a half-marathon and 10km distance.
Hosted the weekend after the Athens Marathon, the Greek Odyssey offers runners a way to extend their time in Greece, combining two race distances with the country’s mythology, coastline and late-autumn/fall climate. The event organiser, Marathon Tours & Travel, is an international destination travel provider for runners and their supporters.
Runners will be able to choose between the half-marathon and 10km distances, with Marathon Tours & Travel offering two specialised travel packages, both based at the five-star Westin Resort Costa Navarino.
The three-night package, running from November 12-15, 2026, offers a focused race weekend including a half-day tour of Pylos and Methoni Castles, which served as filming locations for the movie, The Odyssey. It also includes a pre-race pasta dinner, welcome reception, and guaranteed race entry.
The five-night package, running from November 10-15, 2026, is designed as an extension for runners coming from the Athens Marathon the weekend before, with a group transfer from central Athens. The extended stay includes three excursions, such as a choice of castle, olive oil tour or a hike through Navarino Bay, plus a full-day trip to Ancient Olympia. This is provided alongside a pre-race dinner, welcome reception and guaranteed entry.
Both packages include daily breakfast, all excursions and celebrations, and group airport transfers to and from Athens.
For those wanting to make the most of their trip to Greece, runners can also team up their Greek Odyssey race with the Athens Marathon the weekend before. A limited number of spots remain for the event.
