Ribble has expanded its road range with the launch of two carbon bikes, introducing the Ultra-Road and the Allroad Carbon.
The Ultra-Road joins the flagship Ultra series from the British manufacturer… ‘designed for cyclists seeking the technology of a performance race bike matched to a sustainable riding position.’
Sean Hastings, CEO at Ribble, said “There’s a belief in cycling that an aggressive position means you’ll be faster. Most riders can’t maintain an extreme position for long. When they try, fatigue builds, power drops and riding is less enjoyable; trying to emulate a pro’s riding position isn’t right for everyone. Ultra-Road is designed around that insight – it’s a performance road bike with a fit that most riders will actually perform better on.”
This stance is supported by industry specialists such as Simon Foy, founder of The Bike Fitters, who said “When the bike and rider are aligned, you get better comfort, more consistent power and ultimately a faster ride.”
Andy Turner, founder of ATP Performance Cycle Coaching, added “A less aggressive position is far more likely to yield the fastest position in the real world, especially for your typical club rider or experienced amateur.”
The Ultra-Road features endurance geometry with a higher stack and shorter reach than pure race bikes. Constructed from M46 and T1000 carbon, the monocoque frame features a carbon aero seatpost to damp road buzz. The UCI-approved frame includes internal down tube storage, mudguard compatibility, and clearance for up to 35mm tyres. Flagship builds weigh 7.5kg.
The Allroad Carbon represents an evolution of the endurance Allroad SL model. The updated bike features a re-designed front end with fully integrated cable routing, a covered through-axle, and a new fork for improved road feel.
Weighing in at around 8.1kg, the new model features a round seatpost, external collar, mudguard compatibility, and tyre clearance up to 38mm to handle light gravel and rough terrain.
Sean Hastings at Ribble, continued “The Allroad SL has been one of our most popular bikes, so this update was about keeping what riders tell us they love and making it better – a cleaner aesthetic, improved weight, great value and fun to ride.”
Comparing the two models, Hastings added “The Ultra-Road is designed for sustained, high performance in the real world with a fit that anyone who isn’t a pro will likely end up faster on. While the Allroad Carbon is simply a great, modern endurance bike – fast and lively, but still versatile and comfortable to ride all day.”
The Ultra-Road is available in Slate Grey Metallic and Damson Metallic, alongside a limited edition Iridescent White Metallic colourway. Groupset options include Shimano 105, Ultegra, and Dura-Ace, as well as SRAM Force and Red AXS. Pricing starts at £2,599, rising to £5,999 for the Dura-Ace build.
The Allroad Carbon comes in Deep Blue Metallic and Silver Sage Metallic, with Shimano Tiagra, 105, and Ultegra groupset choices. Pricing starts from £1,799.
An optional £700 Aero Pack upgrade is available for both bikes, replacing the alloy rims and two-piece bar and stem with an integrated carbon cockpit and Mavic Cosmic S 42 carbon wheels.
Both models are available in sizes XXS to XL, catering for riders from 4ft 11in to 6ft 4in. Each bike is hand-built in the UK and includes a lifetime frame and fork warranty.
