One Hundred series integrates Gretel Planner to elevate race preparation across trail championship

The One Hundred ultra running series has confirmed a collaboration with race planning platform Gretel Planner to introduce advanced race-strategy technology across the international event series.

The partnership will see Gretel Planner integrated into several 2026 events, including Costa Rica 200, Ladakh Trail to Heaven, Cro-Trail, and the Mons Ultra Trail Grand Final. The Gretel Planner service will be provided to registered athletes free of charge as part of their race entry.

One Hundred is an expanding international championship series dedicated to long-distance endurance trail running. By incorporating the Gretel platform, the organiser aims to assist runners in managing the technical demands of steep elevation profiles and varied terrain found in its races.

The Gretel platform uses GPX course data to allow athletes to visualise races in advance. Runners can analyse elevation, plan pacing strategies, and determine nutrition schedules. For participants, this level of insight allows for better preparation regarding gear selection and environmental conditions before arriving at the start line.

João de Saldanha, Co-Founder and CEO of One Hundred, said “Trail running is a sport where preparation and strategy often determine the outcome long before race day. By integrating Gretel Planner into our races, we’re giving athletes the ability to truly understand the course ahead of them, helping turn preparation into confidence and ambition into performance.”

Jorge Vilanova, Founder of Gretel Planner, added “Our goal is to help runners visualise their race before they step onto the trail. When athletes understand the terrain, the climbs and the rhythm of the course, they can make smarter decisions and enjoy the experience more.”

The integration is part of a broader move by the One Hundred World Championship to use digital-first platforms to enhance the athlete experience and improve safety through better-informed decision-making on the trail.
