Garmin has announced Tacx NEO 2T with Zwift Cog and Click, a smart trainer ready to ride out of the box without requiring extra tools, setup or calibration.

Building on bike trainer developments originally unveiled by Garmin last summer, the Tacx NEO 2T trainer provides virtual shifting and works with platforms such as Zwift and ROUVY.

The pre-installed Zwift Cog replaces a standard cassette and is compatible with almost any 8– to 13–speed bike. Meanwhile, Zwift Click offers virtual shifting and allows riders to steer, navigate game menus, and send encouraging ‘ride-ons’ from their handlebars while riding in Zwift.

The trainer tracks training and performance data with power and cadence accuracy within 1%. Users can see real-time ride data in Zwift and ROUVY, and review detailed post-ride data in the Garmin Connect app with automatic ride uploads enabled.

Cyclists can also add Tacx NEO motion plates, sold separately, for multidirectional movement and simulated road feel for features such as cobblestones and wooden planks in Zwift. Additionally, the Tacx Alpine gradient simulator, also sold separately, adds simulated ascents up to 25% and descents down to -10%, along with integrated steering.

Tacx NEO 2T with Zwift Cog and Click has a suggested retail price of £859.99 / €999.99. Cyclists who purchase the trainer and are new Zwift subscribers are eligible for a free Zwift membership offer.
