ATHLOS, the all-women’s professional track and field league founded by Alexis Ohanian’s venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, has announced the BBC as its official UK broadcast partner for ATHLOS London.
The event on September 18, 2026, marks the league’s first international competition following two seasons in New York, with live and on-demand coverage set to stream across the BBC’s digital platforms.
The inaugural UK event will take place at StoneX Stadium in London, featuring many of the biggest names in international track and field. Headlining the field is Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson, who returns as the reigning ATHLOS 800m winner after claiming victory at last year’s New York event. Hodgkinson, who set a new world indoor 800m record in February before winning world indoor gold in March, will compete in front of a home audience.
Joining Hodgkinson at StoneX Stadium are high-profile athletes including Olympic medallists Sha’Carri Richardson and Gabby Thomas, Olympic 800m medallist Georgia Hunter Bell, World Indoor 400m champion Amber Anning, European Championship medallist Rhasidat Adeleke, and long jump star Tara Davis-Woodhall.

The ATHLOS series is designed to combine top-tier athletic competition with a high-energy festival atmosphere, incorporating personalised athlete walk-out tracks and curated live entertainment. Across its two events in the 2026 season, the league is awarding more than US$2.1 million in total prize money. Event winners earn US$65,000, while overall champions receive a US$25,000 championship bonus alongside a custom Tiffany & Co crown. Eligible participating athletes are also offered equity in the league.

The league was launched as an invitational meet created specifically to showcase female athletes while offering the largest prize purse ever for an all-women’s track event. Organised by venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, which was founded in 2020 by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, the event aims to elevate the profile and earning capacity of top female track athletes.
The competition will commence at 19:00 BST on September 18, 2026, at StoneX Stadium in Greenlands Lane, London. Full details regarding the BBC’s digital broadcast schedule will be confirmed ahead of the event. Tickets for the meet are currently available via the official organisation website.
